10/21/2010 - Quentin Keefe honored with NH Business Review 2010 Business Excellence Award
Regency Mortgage Corp.'s President and CEO, Quentin Keefe was honored last night by the NH Business Review with his selection as a 2010 Business Excellence Award recipient. Mr. Keefe was this years winner in the Real Estate category for his outstanding leadership during a very challenging business environment for the lending community in 2007 and 2008. Regency Mortgage Corp. is a local mortgage banking firm employing more than 50 people in the states of New Hampshire and Maine. In 2007/2008 faced with a real estate and financial crisis, Keefe managed the company through some very difficult times. With business down over 70% from recent years, Keefe was required to meet newly imposed net worth and liquidity requirements in order to maintain his credit facility, which is essential for a mortgage bank. Managing through this required great sacrifice and leadership. Like companies were closing their doors all over the country, but Keefe was determined to do what was necessary to survive. Today, Regency Mortgage Corp. is healthier and bigger then it has ever been, a fact that sometimes seems unbelievable to this business owner, but one that he relishes and in which he takes great pride. When acceting the award Keefe was sure to mention that he shared this honor with his business partner of 15 years, Maureen Lemay; his Vice President, Diane Morrissette; his staff who agreed to pay reductions during those difficult years, and who Keefe said "says something about who they are as people"; and last, but far from least, his wife, Maryjane Keefe.
